Toby began racing snocross at nine years old on a small western circuit thanks to his dad. After his dad passed away in an avalanche he stopped racing until college when he hung up his football cleats and bought his first mountain sled. He has followed in both his dad’s and grandpa’s footsteps by riding in the backcountry and racing snowmobiles as often as possible. The most influential snowmobiler in his life has been his dad, who couldn’t have set a better example for him to follow. His dad built his own mod sleds and was working on turbo sleds in 1993 and a belt drive prototype in 1996. Most of Toby’s free time is spent in the garage working on hay equipment, building mod sleds, or messing with carbon parts. He also likes to dirt bike, hunt, fish, and be in the woods. He plans to continue to hillclimb and run a business in the Big Hole Valley.
